Designed for maximum performance with Hot Bento Cook and versatile enough for any cooking surface. Quick to heat, built to last, and naturally nonstick with seasoning.
Hot Bento pan is designed for maximum performance with Hot Bento Cook but will prove a welcome addition for other cooking surfaces as well. Pan thickness ensures quick warming and sustained heat levels. The glass cover prevents spatter and helps lock in heat, moistness, and flavor.
Hot Bento Pan has a “frosted” rather than smooth finish. With proper seasoning, this provides a physical nonstick effect that will help retain moisture and prevent food from drying out and losing nutrients.
Seasoning
Seasoning a cast iron pan refers to surface treatment. Hot Bento Pans are pre seasoned at the factory, but please follow below tips for long life and nonstick coating.
Regular seasoning will extend the lifetime of your pan and improve the cooking experience.
.Coat with vegetable oil and place upside down, on a sheet of aluminum foil, in 300℉ oven for 1 hour
.Remove pan and wipe off any liquefied shortening. You are now seasoned
A strong nonstick surface takes time to form. Best to cook meats and fatty foods in early days. Fat in oil turns into carbon particles, which create the nonstick surface. The more you cook, the more oils are deposited and the heat from cooking turns them into carbon particles. After each meal, wash your pan, dry thoroughly and apply a thin layer of oil.
Sometimes black flakes will come off pan. These are carbon flakes that are not fully bonded and are harmless. If excessive, scrub with a nylon brush or salt, rinse, hand dry, and rub with oil.
